Global Engagement Designation

Global Engagement Designation

The Global Engagement Designation was established to recognize high school graduates who have successfully completed a global education curriculum and engaged in co-curricular activities and experiences that fostered the development of global competencies and global citizenship. 


The program focuses and validates the global education learning opportunities already in place in most schools, encourages students to enroll in classes with global content, and prepares globally competent students who are college and career ready. 

Purpose

The Certificate and transcript endorsements shall be awarded to high school students who have demonstrated competency through global education by successfully fulfilling the recommended criteria in the following three (3) areas: globally-focused coursework, globally focused student activities, and a Global Service Learning or Action Project.

Pathways to Designation

To be recognized for this Certificate, students need to complete the following requirements:

coursework in world languages;

  • coursework with strong global implications and analysis;
  • extracurricular activities and experiences with global themes; and
  • a global service learning or action project.

Through coursework and co-curricular activities referenced above, globally competent students will demonstrate the following competencies:

  • investigate and express ideas about the world beyond their immediate environment;
  • recognize and articulate their own and others’ perspectives;
  • communicate ideas effectively with diverse audiences; and
  • translate ideas into appropriate actions to address a contemporary global issue.

To participate in either the Virtual Exchange or Global Engagement Designation, the school, through with the principal or department teacher chair, needs to connect us and we will follow-up with the next steps on enrollment. 


Absolutely! Please complete our form and as long as your country does not have any video-conferencing or Google Meet restrictions, you are eligible to participate. 


Our programs are open to any school that wants to enhance students' global competency thought project-based, experiential learning opportunities. 


No. This program actually compliments your existing curriculum. 


Participation via phones that can log into our online platform and connect via Google Meet would be necessary. Also, only one computer will suffice for your classroom, and students may sit in groups.
